Teacher In-Service Program (TISP)

Q. Why TISP?

A. Statistics show that science, technology, engineering, and math enrollments in most developed countries, including Canada, are declining. Thus, a group of professional volunteers (TISP members) in this field are working to motivate pre-university students worldwide. TISP activities have recently launched in Canada, and have formed a nationwide committee and regional champions that is working coast to coast.

Q. How does TISP help?

A. TISP aims to reach the pre-university STEM (The Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) educators. In collaboration with the local board of education, TISP arranges workshops for the pre-university educators at different levels. The main objectives of this workshop are to promote an awareness of the need for technology literacy, and to provide hands-on demonstration of the field for classroom use.

Q. How does TISP get support?

A. TISP is supported by IEEE the world's largest professional association. IEEE is advancing innovation and technology excellence for the benefit of humanity. IEEE has more than 375,000 members in 160 countries.
